Dog Grooming Near Easton: The Ultimate Guide to Getting Your Dog Ready for Summer

Now that summer is officially here, it's time to start thinking about how you're going to get your dog ready for warmer weather. Grooming is an important part of your dog's overall health and well-being, and neglecting to groom your dog properly can lead to a number of problems. To help get you started, here are a few tips for cleaning your dog's fur:

1. Remove any wet or soiled clothing immediately, before it has a chance to spoil your dog's coat.

2. Give your dog a good bath using a canine-specific shampoo. Be sure to lather the shampoo well and rinse it off completely.

3. Use a conditioner to help restore the natural oils in your dog's fur.

4. Towel-dry your dog as best you can, then use a hair dryer on the lowest setting to finish the job.

5. Brush your dog's fur regularly to keep it healthy and free of tangles.

Following these tips will help keep your dog looking and feeling his best all summer long!

If you have any other questions or concerns about how to care for your dog during summer, don't hesitate to contact your local groomer for advice. They're well-trained in the art of dog grooming and are more than happy to help.

Dogs need to be groomed year-round. The purpose of grooming is to clean the dog, keeping his skin and coat healthy; remove dead hair, debris, and soot from the coat's surface; and to train dogs not to soil their areas. Unfortunately, many people only bring their dogs in for a once-a-year trim. This is not enough to keep your dog looking and feeling his best. At Trifecta Kennels, we recommend bringing your dog in every 4 to 6 weeks. This will help keep his coat clean, remove any build-up of oils and waxes on the fur, and prevent matting. Grooming also helps train dogs not to soil their areas.

About Trifecta Kennels

The college years at Penn State prepared us both well for our professional careers, but 6 years into the Child Protective Services was all it took for Lisa to realize her interests centered on dogs and human/dog relationships. We named the kennel after a Trifecta horse race that we won when three of us Penn Staters won on a Trifecta ticket at Pocono Downs.

We have attended seminars and pursued ongoing continuing education so we could become experts on the care of dogs and the training of dogs.  We have launched the Therapy dog careers of hundreds of Therapy dogs over these many years.  We have also sparked interest in the sport of canine Obedience, Rally and Agility for large numbers of our Trifecta family. Our training programs are veterinarian used and recommended.

Our goals when working with dog owners via the training programs is to help them enhance the human/dog relationship so that both the human and the dog can prosper from a lifelong rewarding human-dog interaction. This is a passion of ours, developed over the past 30 years. We want both the dog and the human to thrive together.

We were the first kennel in the region to offer play yards and play time to our canine guests.  We have always believed that visiting canines would like to get out of the kennel and exercise freely, off leash.  When you are looking for the best place to leave your dog, while your away, use trifecta- we are experienced, responsible and treat our guests as though they were our own dogs!
